How to Make a Page Flag

I love to use up every single thing  I have --including the packaging! It is hard to throw out cute packaging, so I  like to turn it into something useful. I created a page flag from the packaging in the January 2018 Planner Society Kit.
I used the following supplies to make it:

First I adhered the gold week to the base with craft glue. I like this better than a tape runner because I can slide it around before it sets up:
 Repeat with second base:
Run a line of glue on the backside of the top base:
Create a shadow of the word by moving the second base up and over about 1/8 of an inch. Use washi tape for decoration  and extra support:
Finish it off by adding any extra elements:
To use the flag simply slide it over the page you want to hold.

December 2017 TN and Happy Planner Set Up!

Can you believe it is almost Christmas! This time of year in our house is by far the busiest! Not only do we have the typical hustle and bustle because of the holidays, but two of my boys have birthdays a week apart and  my son's basketball season is in full swing. To help keep me organized and on top of things I have to have a functioning planner. I use two planners. One is a TN I carry with me that doubles as a wallet and the other is a Happy Planner that sits on my desk. The Happy Planner has the monthly overview as well as everything related to family life and my work. I did a walk thru of  my planners for you.
I hope you got some ideas and are inspired!

November 2017 Happy Planner Set Up!

I have desperately missed my Happy Planner. It is the first planner I ever used and old habits die hard. I have enjoyed my TN, but I have noticed that I pretty much just make it cute and don't utilize it like the Happy Planner. So, for the month of November I am going back to my first planner love -- the Happy Planner! I do plan to use my TNs for another form of planning, just not my everyday family life.

The October 2017 The Planner Society kit is GORGEOUS. I used it to set up my planner.

Here is a tutorial on how to make page flags and a walk through of the planner:

October TN Planner Set Up!

Can you believe it is almost October? I'm still trying to figure out what happened to September. I love The Planner Society monthly kits and could not wait to get the September kit set up for October. I was able to pull in some odds and ends from my stash too!
One thing I have been hoarding is a cute little shaker card I made at the Summer Creativation show in July using the new Tim Holtz die! I had the perfect spot in my planner for it. After all, October is Halloween! Super excited I get to enjoy this little shaker all month!
I really have to think about how I want to set my planner up every month because my needs change depending on the time of year. I actually struggled setting up this month. I don't know why. Once I got it done I was pretty pleased with it.

I uploaded the complete unboxing of the Planner Society Kit and a better walk thru of my planner here:
I hope you enjoy!

September 2017 Planner Set Up

It is that time of month -- set up next month's planner. For the month of September I used The Planner Society August kit. It is a dreamy pretty blue with a lovely girl. I decided on my rainbow glitter TN to set it up in. Here is what the inside looks like:

I created a walk thru of how I set it up HERE . Please go check it out!

August 2017 Planner Set Up

Hello Friends! It is that time of month again in which we start to think about what is to come in the near future. Time to set up our planners! I have been in a state of confusion lately regarding my planner. My home life is full and my career has taken on a new chapter. I also have stepped away from the Happy Planner because I can not take it with me -- I really need something portable. I have experimented with a couple different set ups. For the month of August I have decided to use two TN planners -- one for home and one for work. The best part is they are both easy to grab and go.

I set up my home planner for August with the June Planner Society Kit last month. So, I used the August kit to set up my work planner. I put together a video of the process. You can click HERE to watch it.

How to Use Stickers in a Planner

I love things that are pretty and functional! Needless to say, one of my very favorite things is my planner.
To help keep me organized during the week I use icon stickers. For this week I used stickers by SRM! There were two sheets. One with icon and words. The other fun doodle strips!
I really appreciate that the icons are black and white. I like everything to match so this allowed me to color them in to coordinate with my Palm Spring themed planner. I used my copics.

Once I got all the icons colored in I added them to my weekly spread.

I used the fun little dots above in a whimsical fashion in my Girl Boss insert. This is my work notebook! Finally, I used the fun doodle strips to make columns for my shopping list! I like to categorize everything according to how I shop. It just makes it easier for me and saves time. These doodle strips were perfect for that!
If you want to see how I set my planner up for summer please check out my walk through HERE .
Also, make sure you check out how other designers used stickers in their planner today too!

Happy Planner Pregnancy Journal

Hi friends! I had an online friend ask me to make her a planner for her pregnancy. She is due in December and she wanted somewhere to keep notes, appointments and a few pictures. She really likes elephants and wanted it more of a grown up theme than a baby theme. I am all about that! I really appreciated that she was not doing the stereotypical type planner. She picked out the Mandala kit from Calico Collage and I had a few elephant prints in my stash. This is what I created for her using the downloadable kit and my stash:
To see the inside go here :-)

I hope this gives you a few ideas on how to use a planner and possibly a gift for someone special.

Summer Paradise Planner

Hi Friends! I am super excited about the new and one of a kind planner kits that you can digitally download! I talked at great lengths with the owner of Calico Collage about what us planner gals would find useful. I am proud to present the "Summer Paradise Planner Kit"
This is not like your typical Etsy sticker planner kit. This is entirely different and amazing! I show you here . Please go check it out -- you won't be disappointed!

Rinea Flower Band

I created a travel journal last week and this week I wanted to finish it off with a travel band! This is both pretty and functional. It is common for me to lose paper and bits I need while on the road in my car because it falls out of the place it was suppose to be!

The tutorial on how to make this is here

You can find the Rinea here

How To Set Up a Planner for a Student!

The Planner Society March kit is just gorgeous and perfect for my daughter! This month instead of using it in my planner I set it up in her's. I did three month's worth of planning to get her through the rest of the school year. For April I set up both the month and the weeks, however I left the weeks for her to do in May and June.
Once I got it done I handed it over to her with the matching little bag included in the kit! To see what is in the kit and a close up walk through of my daughter's planner please check out my video here !

Spring Peacock Planner Set Up

Oh my goodness! I still can not even believe the gorgeousness in my planner this month. I have never ever had anything so beautiful to look at everyday! If you have not checked out Calico Collage you really want to do that! Trust me, it is going to blow your mind and you will thank me later. I used the Spring Peacock Junk Journal Kit as my March Planner set up and it worked wonderfully! I did a tutorial on how to set up a planner, make pockets, and use elements from the digital kit here:
