How to Make a Page Flag

I love to use up every single thing  I have --including the packaging! It is hard to throw out cute packaging, so I  like to turn it into something useful. I created a page flag from the packaging in the January 2018 Planner Society Kit.
I used the following supplies to make it:

First I adhered the gold week to the base with craft glue. I like this better than a tape runner because I can slide it around before it sets up:
 Repeat with second base:
Run a line of glue on the backside of the top base:
Create a shadow of the word by moving the second base up and over about 1/8 of an inch. Use washi tape for decoration  and extra support:
Finish it off by adding any extra elements:
To use the flag simply slide it over the page you want to hold.

Art From the Heart

Have you ever found something that you love, but want to use it differently than how it is intended to be used? That is what happened when I found this to make heart charms. I really wanted to make a mixed media canvas with the hearts as part of the body and a beautiful clay doll head from Lisa Kettell Designs to create this:
I also had some medal wings and crown by Tim Holtz as well as angel wings from 7Gypsies that were perfect for this piece. I used the new Prima rust paint system with some modeling clay to create the background and used Nuveo Dew Drops to outline the hearts in the body. I recorded the process as a segment in my "Behind the Art" showcasing how it came together. You can watch it here:

Walking in my Shoes

I fell in love with the new Dyary line from Dylusions. Well, let's face it...I like everything Dylusions comes out with! However, this month they released an amazing new large planner! Now, I need another planner like I need a hole in my head. However, her planners (that she calls Dyary) are awesome because they have her beautiful background pages in them. I hate my handwriting and need lines to write, so I thought this would make a great Quotes journal!

Here are the links to the supplies I used to create this into page into my journal:

I am starting a new series on my channel, Behind the Art, in which I am creating. The camera is above my work station and I have sped up the video and turned off the sound. My first episode was creating this! Please check it out and leave me some feedback. Do you like it? How do you feel about no sound? Was it to fast or just right?

Hello Sunshine Card

The Clouds background stamp and the Love is in the Air Balloon are a perfect compliment to each other. I started off with a white piece of cardstock and made the sky with Rock Candy and Locomotive Surface ink. I lightly rubbed the pads on the cardstock and set it with a heat gun. I used White Pigment ink to stamp the clouds and embossed them with Alabaster embossing powder. I cut a circle from white cardstock using the foundation dies and inked it with Zest! I stamped "Hello Sunshine" as the sentiment and embossed it in Gilded. I used Oz to stamp the balloon and cut it out. I layered the sentiment over the balloon and finished off with bottle cap sequins.

Floral Frenzy Cards

I whipped up a few cards with the January Inspirational Box from Brutus Monroe . I did not have much  time to craft and decided to foil them with Decofoil to make a stunning presentation. I used Colorburst on a few for even more character. The kit came with some sweet little bags that are perfect for holding gift cards. One of the stamps reminded me of hair and I decided to make a face out of it. For that card I used the black cardstock as the base, stamp the floral images and emboss them in gold making sure to do the edges.

Check out the video for the unboxing of the kit and a card and envelope demo:

Valentine Day ATCs

I am feeling the love right now and decided to create some Valentine theme ATCs using Calico Collage Primitive Hearts and Beauty Secret ATC Bases . I used different parts of pink dollies I have from a set I found on sale at Micheal's as an embellishment and to keep me interested in finishing all of them - ha! I don't do well repeating the same thing multiple times. I like variety! The dollies allowed everything to match, but not identical. I made a short tutorial on how to make them here:

Here is a few pictures of the finished set:

Life is Art

he Kaleidoscope Stencil is PERFECT for the Brutus Monroe Color Burst! Simply place the stencil on a piece of white cardstock, sprinkle with Color burst, and spray! Remove the stencil in a fluid solid motion to see the amazing colorful design you are left with. I adhered my color burst creation to a black cardbase and added a "Life is Art" tag that I embossed in Gilded.
