A Few New Things!

I know that I have been missing in action -- but not because I have not been scrapping! I have been doing that and some altering! Here is just a taste of a few things I have been doing. One is just a fast LO I did of Annie and I trying to get the perfect picture. The other two pics are of the count down Christmas clipboard I made (you have seen it on the blog) and the matching mailbox that has the 12 days of Christmas in it. The mini book is pictured as well. It is 12 days worth of activities for our family to do together this season. See, we have been taking a bit of a financial hit like the rest of the country and we wanted to make it special so I came up with 12 activities that are fun and cheap! Some of them are traditions and others are new! We will start this on Dec. 5. On that day the children do the German trad ion of writing a letter to St. Nick and putting it in their shoe outside. SC comes by and picks up the letter and then leaves a small treat in its place. Some other activities are driving around with Hot Cocoa and looking at lights, watching a Christmas movie with popcorn (at home of course), making Thank You cards for after Christmas to send out, decorating cookies, baking treats, visiting Santa, picking out our yearly decoration, and decorating a Gingerbread house for out center piece on our breakfast nook table. If you want to do this with your family, but don't have a lot of time, just take a jar and cut up stripes of paper and have the kids pull one each day! TFL!

Christmas Clipboard and LO with New SG Kit!

SG has been a happening place this last week! I completed this darling count down to Christmas calendar last weekend! It was Aleta's class and I LOVE how it turned out!

This month's technique is felting, so I completed these LO using the technique! I love felting, but it takes forever. This is something that should be done when watching TV! LOL! TFL and leave some love! ;-)

LOs I Completed @ Bobbie's!

I went on a visit to see my friend Bobbie and we scrapped some, wine tasted, had yummy meals that her DH made, and shopped. It was a great time and just what I needed. Here are the 12 by 12 LO's I completed at her house. I also got two mini albums done! TFL!

My favorite one I did all weekend! I love love love this paper and the purple matched my little girl's dress!

I am so behind on my Kid's school Album! She is in first grade now and this is the first day of kindergarten LO!

This is Annie's graduation from Kindergarten page. Thanks for the paper Bobbie! I really like it!

Just a LO I did of my daughter.

Christmas Gift for Lane!

I made this little book for my niece Lane for Christmas. It is done totally out of scraps and my stash! As she opens it up I left her spots to write. TFL!

Christmas Gift for B.J.!

I altered this "B" for my nephew. Nothing all that fancy, but it does stand up and he could put it in his room. I wanted to make him an album as well, but will do it early 2009 because I am running out of time and I still have a few more things to do. Sorry kiddo! :0(

Alex's Christmas Gift (HS Memory Album)

This is the Christmas Gift I made for my niece who is graduating high school this year. I personally can't believe she is this old because I remember a little to clearly when I used to hold her as a baby! Take a look and leave a comment!

Introduction page to book. She can put a picture of herself and there is a journal spot as well.

This is a page about her favorite class. I had more than one favorite class in High school so I left her a few spots to write! She could even throw a picture on it too!

This one is for her favorite teacher.

Prom! She needs a picture of prom right?

Finally this is an area for either her first boyfriend, a boy she dated in high school, first love, or whatever about a boy. This page actually took me forever to make, but I really like it!

Pleas leave feedback! Thanks!

Cont. of Alex's Gift

Last pages of my niece's High School Memory book. I left ALOT of pages without anything on them other than the purty designs that were originally there. That way she can add in her senior pictures as well as others. She could even pout her diploma in it! TFL!

Uncle Chris

Finally! This is my brother's Christmas gift this year. I usually don't alter or make gifts for dudes. Rather give a guy a gift card to Hooter's! Ha-ha! Any way, here it is!

Sept. Scraplift Challenge

Every month at ScrapGoods there is a scrap lift challenge where one person is E-mailed a Layout and they are to make a new one based on the one they were sent and so on. We also have to use SG kits to make the LOs! This is my take on the lift that was sent to me. It is of Annie and her beloved Tinkerbell slippers that she can't seem to part with! TFL!

S.W.A.K.

Try not to laugh to hard, but I did this LO for the scraptlift challenge over at SG last month. For the life of me I could not find any pictures that would work with the lift, so I took pictures of my lips with the different types of lipstick/glosses I use (I prefer lip gloss over lipstick BTW! I have a ton of Victoria Secret glosses that taste really good, so I am constantly licking my lips! LOL!). Naturally this is in my Book of Me album and I think I may burn this LO because it is just to weird! Insert me rolling my eyes here! ;-P

Thanks for looking and leave a comment if you must. Even if it just to say "hahahahahahahahahahaha you are a true dork!" Or, ummmm.....tell me which set you like best, so I know to stick to that color! Like for real. I like input like that! :-)

I Have Been Tagged!

So, I have been tagged by Barb! Here goes:

TAG-You're it

The "rules" of the game are as follows:
1. Post the rules on your blog.
2. Write 6 random things about yourself.
3. Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
4. If you're tagged, DO IT and pass on the tag

Write six random things about yourself...

1) I was once on a TV Makeover segment on a local channel.
2) I eat breakfast every day.
3) I don't bake well (except for Grandma's carrot cake and brownies and I make some excellent frosting)
4) I let my kids climb in bed and sleep with me whenever their little hearts desire.
5) I love the smell after it rains.
6) I am addicted to the old 90210

Christmas in Sept!

This year for Christmas I am going to use my stash! My family seems to like these types of gifts better than anything else, so I am gonna take advantage of the cheapness of it all! LOL!

This is the calender I made for my Mom. It was an odd size (6.5 by 15), but I think it turned out OK. I have not added pictures to it yet, but you can see where they will go! My favorite pages are April, May and June. The reason May has a Birthday cake is because it is my Mom's Birthday month. The last five months are out of order. Sorry! TFL and leave me some love (comment)! :-))))

Chrstmas Cards and Two LO!

I have not fallen of the face of the earth. I have been busy with some other stuff, but I have been busy in my scrap room. The first three pics are of the cards I made for Ryann's Christmas card swap!

This card is for the Righteous person!

This card is for the Sinner. Hey, at least it is not Jesus on the surf board!

Finally this is for the Politically Correct.

Brothers was done using the sketch Marinka posted a few weeks back. I know I missed the deadline to upload it, but here it is anyways. The paper is cosmo cricket. My boys and their green hair. Hulk lives on!

Tara's Challenge was to create a Layout about my Inner strength, so I did one on my ability to stand back up when I am knocked down. I used Sugarland's song as my journal because it was better than anything I could come up with. It just stated it well. In fact, I just realized that the song is in my music list on the blog! If you want to hear it just click on the Sugarland song!

Thanks so much for peeking and stopping by. Now leave me some love! :-)

I Learned How to Sew on A Button! Who-Hoo!

Huge accomplishment in my scrapbook room today --I learned how to sew a button on a LO! I know, I know, I have been scrapping for ten years and I grew up in a home with a Mother who sew these elaborate ball gowns and my sister and my grandma all sew. I should know how to sew right? NOT! Well, today I put three buttons on a Layout and thought how cool it would look if I would actually use thread and sew them on! Could not figure out for the life of me how to get it in the hole through the back of the paper. I know what some of you are thinking about when I just posted about finding the hole, but that what this blog is about, so please get your minds out of the gutter? LOL! I just drug you to the sewer huh? Oh, so I digressed. Sorry, back to the hole (button holes that is! I discovered that if I took my poker (not that kind of poker, but the one we use in scrap booking that pokes things)and poked through the holes first and then flipped the paper over I could sew it perfectly! Now off to try this on shirts with lost buttons instead of just tossing them in a pile for my Mom to fix when she comes to visit!I know this is not that grand to most of you, but here is a picture of the buttons I did this afternoon!

Here is a picture of the Layout with the buttons on it.

Close up of the embellishments in the lower corner. Robin always inspires me on Scrapgoods with how she does her embellishments and placement of them! I used Metallic ink on the journal block's backside. I also used metallic ink on the bird, but I did a darker ink on the back and a lighter on the front. I then glimmer misted the little dude and outlined him with metallic pens.

Lastly, a LO of you oldest son on the quad. Can you believe that this took two long hours to complete? I scratched up the black Card stock (that took forever) and then I used liquid glass on the small picture in the circle to make it look like a bubble. I also distressed the letters.
