Over the Weekend

First off, I am sorry the pictures are blurry. I don't know what I did on my camera to make them this way and I will fix it in the future.

My oldest son, Logan did a year of Cub Scouts when he was 8 (3 years ago). For Christmas that year the family gave me the KI Cub Scout Kit. It took me until this last weekend to finally get them scrapped. I think I was just afraid of them...I don't do well with themes at all, but I was finally able to conquer the kit!

For the next one I wanted to include all the little cards he got with his pins and such on them for the different badges he earned. The only thing is, I am so sick of hiding them in pockets or behind photos so this time I displayed them along the edge to make a border. Then I took his "rank" and pin for that and did those in the lower corner.

The last thing I wanted to do was have to break down the extras of a kit and put it in my stash. There is no way that I will ever use any thing Cub Scout again (we now do Awana) so I let the stickers and left over paper throw up on this final Cub scout layout. This is the first time I had nothing left over.

This is a Layout I did using the CTMH "Reflection" book. It originally was a sketch for a one pager, but I made it into two by flipping the sketch upside down for the second half. All of this was made with crap....errrr...I mean stuff from my stash. That is why it is not all matchy matchy :-)

This final layout is one I made about three weeks ago with my new Cricut Imagine that I got for Christmas. I really like it!

You Are so Square

As one of the promos last month with Close TO My Heart this set was offered. It is a nine cube set complete with a tray and a large stamp set.

Well, I decided to make a family football theme out of it. I used black, red, and white as the base. I used some Varsity type Thickers I have been hoarding as the "Title".

First I made six 6 by 6 layouts, cut them into 2 inch squares, and adhered to the cube. This is what each side looks like:

Christmas is All Wrapped Up

I have a hard time scrapping Christmas photos. I mean it is usually the same type pictures over and over again. Not only that, but I am picky with what kind of Christmas paper I like. In fact, I would rather use something that is not Christmas and make it Christmassy....if that makes any sense. Well, this year I just did not have any creative juices (or maybe it was time). Anyways, I cheated and I bought the "Workshop on the Go" by Close to My Heart (I sell it...to myself more so...but regardless...if you like it, hit me up).Like I was saying, this is the Close to My Heart "Workshop on the Go" Christmas themed pack. It came with almost everything you will see in the photos (I added the black CS, felt tag holders and tags, thickers, card bases, clear card, and card box) Did I mention it came with the cute stamp set?!?!?! Not to mention that, but it gave me a 2 two page LO sketches so it made scrapping super easy.

This first LO I actually used the scraps from the kit. It was the last LO I completed. I came up with the sketch for the LO all by my lil' ole' self :-) I am really trying to tap into my creative side and get back to crafting, so I started a "sketch" section in my "Smash" book. That is where I created this sketch.

This is one of the cards I made to go in the card box. I did use my CB to add texture to it. Have I mentioned how much I love CTMH flat white core cardstock? Look how awesome that looks!!!!

This was one of the LO suggestions that came with the WOTG. I modified it slightly in that instead of making mattes for the two pictures on the top of the LO, I created two pockets on my Cricut. I have a total of about 12 pictures in the pockets. I also used the pattern feature on my new Cricut and came up with my own pattern paper. I did not want to to matchy matchy, but it is cute :-)

This is my favorite card...well....my favorite clear card I have made in a while. I had one pesky clear card left in my stash. I found this cute sketch in the "Wishes" book my CTMH and I modified it to my products I had left. I then pulled out my Copic Marker and gave some life to Santa :-)

This was the first LO I made with the kit. The title is from my stash and I used puffy stuff for Santa :-) I usually do not like white as a background, but on this I love it!

The complete card box set. The add on project for the WOTG was for four cards, but I was able to make a few more. I might give this as a gift to my mom. She always ask me for hand made cards to give out, but I don't want to give them to her for Christmas so I am thinking her birthday....I know that is weird, but if I give them to her at Christmas she has to wait an entire year to use them, right? Or maybe I will just give it to her as a thank you gift for the gifts she sent us now :-)

Do You Smash?

First I would like to apologize for two things. The first being that I have not kept up on this blog. I am going to try to change that in 2012 and upload at least twice a week. One of my resolutions is to spend some more time creating. The second is that I did not flip a couple of these pics before posting and am being lazy and not taking the time to learn how to fix them on here. SO just flip your monitor or your head to view them and I promise to take more time on future posts :-)

Now with all of that being said, the first things I want to share for 2012 are these awesome Smash books. Do you smash? Do you know what smashing is all about? Well, I love these journals and am having so much fun creating in them. The one in the back I got at the Scrapbook Expo in Chicago this past summer. Basically it is just a place to hold all the random crap I find interesting in my life. It varies from one topic to the next and really has no rhyme or reason -- that is why I love it! It is not complete yet, but I did want to show you what I have done in it so far. The second is one my secret Santa (Martha who is not a secret anymore) gave me. This one actually does have a purpose and I worked a few hours on it yesterday. You can't tell, but I used masks to write the word "PHAT" on it and glimmer misted it with the mist that she sent too :-) I really like how the cover came out. It simply is about one of my resolutions for the year. I shared the first page (it is one of the ones that needs to be flipped) and I promise to share the rest of the book when I am done. Totally excited about it! Thank you Martha! I love it!!!!

Heart Felt Stuff

I must have been in mushy mood over the weekend because 3 out of the 4 Layouts I completed were emotional. I had the urge and I always follow my urges to scrap challenging topics because it does not happen often. Let's face it, I can scrap funny stuff and put a positive spin on everything, but if it requires to me feel sadness of any kind it is hard for me to deal with -- much less scrap.

First up is the not so emotional one. It is just a page of my beautiful girl -- Annie. This was taken on her 9th birthday.

Now we get to the hard stuff. My grandma is 95 and is....well....slowly dying. I went home about two weeks ago to say my final good byes. This is the last picture I will most likely ever have with her and the last time I will ever see her on this earth. Now, before you go and feel all sappy for me -- don't. She has had a long good life and is moving on to a better place. She is comfortable and happy.

I have always loved my Grandma's hands. Those are one of the physical characteristics that will forever etched in my brain. Naturally I had to take a picture of them one last time and do a page about her and her hands.

Lastly, this is a picture of my little Hero -- Parker. As some of you may know we own a breeding company in which we breed Golden Retrievers. However, these dogs are our pets first and we are very attached to them. Of course it is only natural that we love the puppies with all of our heart. This particular puppy was named -- Blur. We had run out of yarn and had to put two colors on him -- Red and Blue. So we named him the Blur. Parker fell in love with the Blur and would drag this puppy every where he went. I even caught him a few times in Parker's closet because Parker wanted to keep him. Well, we told Parker that we were not going to keep a male Golden and that he probably would be chosen as a therapy dog for the Southeast Blind Association in which he would help a veteran who was wounded in war. Sure enough the Blur was the one picked for that job. This is Parker's last picture with his beloved Blur. He cried so much, but he also felt good about "training" him for this important mission and found a great deal of comfort in that. He sacrificed his own desire to keep the Blur for a greater good -- and that is why this 6 year old is my hero. I am so blessed to have him as my son too!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge

I have not done one of these in months and months and months, but I am struggling to get much of anything done scrapbook related. Now, before I go and post my counterfeit I would just like to say that I totally cheated...if that is possible when you counterfeit. This is all CTMH and pretty much works together. The only thing that I had to actually dig through my stash for was the ribbon and stamps pads. Regardless this is my kit that took me no time to put together because it pretty much was already assembled. If you want any of it just drop me a line because I can put in an order for ya ;-)

Sept. 2011 Layouts

This is the first time in my life that I have had 7 straight hours a day to myself without having a job or child attached to my hip. Granted that being a stay at home mom is a job, but not a job in which I had to go to the office at a certain time, work and then come home. You would think that I would have more time to do my hobby -- scrapbook. That is proving not to be the case. I am so busy, but I am going to make a point in the month of October to at least spend a few hours a week in my scrap room. Regardless, I did manage to get the following done this month.

These Layouts were done with leftover paper and embellishments from Close to my Heart. I kind of cheated on this page in that I used the collage that Walgreens came up with the first day of pictures and just smacked it on the LO.

This page took a lot of time and I am not sure if I like it or not. First, I noticed that I have a spelling error on it (or two). The title I stamped and took forever!

Here is the close up of the journal tags that I made for it. The first day of school was really interesting because my oldest was mortified that I was at school and my youngest did not want to let me go. The title is suppose to read "A mother holds her child's hand for awhile, his heart forever and embarrasses him often."

I have had these pictures for months. I really don't like them, but the event was fun and I knew I had to have them in the album, so I used a sketch and came up with this. Everything on here is leftovers. I literally saved it from the trash can.

The rest of these are from Sass Lass. I found the entire "Nerdy Bird" line on sale and had to have it. Each and everyone of these is from that line and I still have a ton of it left! This Layout is of the kids on the fourth of July. I know it is not the typical fourth of July page, but the stars caught my eye and the colors kind of match my children's non fourth of July outfits (PJs). I got the title from watching Taylor Swift's video -- Sparks Fly on CMT as I was working on another LO.

I pop dotted the flower and added some stickles to it.

Do you have any idea how many pictures I have of our new puppy? Way to many to say the least! I was able to get 14 pictures on this layout! Usually it takes me 6 Layouts to showcase this many photos. Do you see the picture with the orange bow? That is actually a mini album about teaching Sierra how to use the doggie door.

Here is a picture of the mini album opened to the first page. The kids actually were the ones to teach her how to go through the door. Now she likes to keep her head propped out of the door with her body inside. Sigh.....she is so odd.

I layered the die cut flower and used a FP pebble as the center. I then pop dotted it on the LO.

There are two things that I do not enjoy scrap booking and they are Birthdays and Christmas. I think it is because they all have the tendency to look them same and you tend to have a ton of photos and only want to dedicate one LO to the event so they are more challenging. Anyways, this is the LO for my daughter and my past birthday (our birthdays are 6 days apart).

I journal about the cake on the cloud and pop dotted that on the LO.

I really like this photo of my son and this girl who has a huge crush on him. It captures the innocent funny flirtation they have going on. The thing is, Logan is not that into her. Isn't that typical? The girl always likes the boy more at this age?

It is funny how my style has evolved over the years. I am doing more two page LOs and trying to get more pictures on each LO. Three years ago it was more about just one photo and now the story behind them is so much more. I am also not as "messy" as I used to be. I feel like my style is changing because my life is changing. Though I still do enjoy scrap booking it is not the same to me. Now I do it to record our family history knowing that someday my grand kids are going to see these pages. Before it was an escape and what I used to recharge my batteries -- not the case anymore. It seems as if every area of my life is starting a new chapter -- sounds like a good Layout idea doesn't it? "The New Chapter"

Just some Recent Stuff

I actually have had these LOs done for some time, but am just now uploading them. This firs one is the first half to a two page LO. The green frame is actually felt and I outlined it in Stickles.

Second half of LO. I used the Lucky line from CTMH to complete it.

This is a LO I made for my daughter's party. The paper is Basic Gray and I actually like it. Amazing because I am not a BG fan, but I love these bright colors.

I broke out my Glimmer Mist for this one:

I have a ton of photos from our trip to Vegas, but did not want to make a ton of LO. So I cracked open my CTMH Magic book and copied a sketch to come up with this LO.

I so love the title! Check it out!

I made a pocket and journaling block under these three photos:

And here it is open. I slammed like 8 pictures in it and did a lot of journal writing.

I am trying to cut down on my scraps so I made this card with the left overs. I still have half a sheet of pattern paper....sigh...

This is probably my favorite LO I have done in a long time. Puppy Sierra crashed out. Went a little crazy with the tacky animal print, but hey, she is an animal right?

A Year in a Box

Here is the last project from my favorite class I took at the Scrapbook Expo in Chicago. Each little envelope does something different, so once it is complete it will be super duper cute with pictures and journaling.

I used leftovers from the class to alter the box (box came with the kit -- the class was only $24).

I bought the bling for a buck at the Expo. I just cut it up and reshaped it to fit the box (I do that a lot with swirly bling). The flower is from "The Latest and Greatest" class that had nothing all that late or great! Talk about a rip off. If you are going to the Expo just take that $50 you would spend on the class and spend it at Expo. Everything I got in that class was stuff you would find on clearance and not spend more than $35 on. Total waste, but I am chasing rabbits. LOL!

That completes my Chicago Expo projects. Looking back now I am amazed that I was able to get two albums and this cute little box out of if. AND the best part was that I got to spend it with my favorite gal pal! :-)

SEI Tumble Dye & Album in a Box

As I mentioned previously (in another blog entry) that I spent this last weekend at the Scrapbook Expo in Chicgo. At the Expo I took three classes. I will be showing you the final class projects of two of those three classes over the next few days. One class there is nothing to see. I wish I could show you the "Latest and Greatest" in scrapbooking supplies and tools -- which is what it was titled, but I can't because it was NOT anything new or great. In fact, that class really sucked! However, the other two classes were awesome!

One of the designers from SEI taught the Tumble Dye technique using a lovely album that she created. Yep! I got to take a class from a designer! She had selected and designed the album, paper, chipboard, and everything in between. Forgive the color on this because the album is white overall, so it was hard to photograph. Add that to the fact that I had slipped it into page protectors and it is bound to be a hot mess. LOL!

The class was $48 and you can order these all in one albums off their website for $41. It is a great value! You should be able to complete an album in an hour too! Although I think it will take closer to 1.5 hours. Everything is precut!

Here is the front of the album and the new SEI Tumble Dye:

The Tumble Dye is different from the glimmer mist and even that wonderful Maya Road mists. First, there is no glimmer in it, however you do still need to twirl the bottle to mix it like you do for Glimmer Mist. Secondly, it has more of a consistency of water downed paint and kind of smells like that too.

The technique that I learned was how to use the Tumble Dye on the PP in this kit. Basically, what you do is you spray the dye on a paper towel and rub in in circles on the PP until you get the coverage you want. She said the paper can not be sprayed on directly because it would literally tear it up -- she had tried. I really liked the look of it and had I done this entire album in the comfort of my own scrap room I would have Tumble Dye all the white sheets (the entire album is white) three different colors. However, I was not in my own scrap room, so I tumble dye two sheets two different colors (I used my neighbors purple). I then cut up that sheet as embellishments. Here are a few of the completed pages in the album and yes I did finish the entire album!

Part of the kit was a package of tissue and tulle circles of different sizes and colors. As you can tell from the page above and the page below they got a lot of use and were really a clever way of using materials we may have on hand. Although, I don't know if I could cut a perfect circle out of tissue paper. Maybe I should leave that job to SEI! LOL!

Do you see the purple pattern paper in the following layout that is behind the photo block? I made that with the tumble dye technique.

Told ya it was basically white. LOL! I got to confess that I was skeptical as I was completing the album because it was white as the base and I always thought white was a "no-no" in scrap booking. However, with recent trends in home decor and what designers are doing I can see how it could be the new trend in scrap booking. With all of that being said, once I get pictures in it, journal done (in purple or green), and titles on the pages I think it will be beautiful. Thanks for looking :-)

Vacation Album 2011

My main goal at the scrapbook expo last weekend was to complete our vacation album. I don't know why, but these are not my favorite albums to complete so they usually sit around waiting to get done. I am happy to say that vacation album 2011 is happily complete and sitting on our shelf! I used CTMH "Cherish" and "Magic" books for ALL the page layout ideas. It came together in a snap because of those books! I normally don't like to take pictures of them in their book already, but since I placed them in the album at the expo I was not gonna pull them out to photograph them at home LOL! Long live being lazy :-)

This is my favorite LO I made for the album. Oh, and yes the flower is suppose to be there. If it is not there this could classify as soft porn...sigh.....no, I did not know my boobs were busting out like that.

Sorry this picture is so icky looking. It also happens to be my least favorite LO I did in the album.

Yes...I took pictures of horse roadapples (AKA poop). Got to scrap ALL the vacation -- not just the good.

I got these gosh awful ugly litt;e flowers in a C2P kit a few years ago when I designed for it. I had a hard time using them then and still now. I like them on this LO ;-)

Back To School Layouts

I know, I know, I have not updated this blog in awhile. Sigh. What can I say? Anyways, I have a lot to show you and I mean alot. I spent this past weekend in Chicago at the Scrapbook Expo with my bestie and we had a great time and a lot of scrapping got done. Here are three pages I did for my kids' school album. Recent Scrappy things

I know I have not posted in over a month and I am really sorry about that...well....not really. See, I have been busy with mt puppies, but I have been scrapping and here is the proof :-)This first LO I made using only scraps. I took these pictures on my stud dog owner's property that backs the Black Mountains. Hopefully the crazy wild fires that I have been hitting AZ hard have not affected this area.

This next one I made using SU! "Sew Cute" line and I think it is so cute..hee-hee.

The next few LOs I made with CTMH "Lucky" line. It is really great for boy pages, but I used it for more than just my boys ;-)

I love this picture of my daughter and I! The paper is SU, pearls CTMH, pearl flourish and flower are Prima. In fact, Marlene gave me the pretty flower :-) Thanks Marlene. She is so sweet and lots of fun. I wonder when she is coming to AZ again because I want to scrap with her.

This is a LO I used with the SU! "Sew Cute" line and CTMH stamps. This is a new tradition we do for Easter. Shove as many Peeps as you can in your mouth and say "Chubby Bunny". The winner is the one that can say it with the most Peeps in their mouth. Logan won this year and had the best picture with the blue spit! The funny thing is he was totally teasing everyone else and then his turn came and it was by far the most embarrassing of them all!

This is a LO I made with another SU! line. I made the flower out of matching fabric and stamped the steam with my CTMH stamps. Annie and I found this little dress one day and knew it was perfect for Easter.

The following two LO I completed for the Swap kit challenge I am in at OSU. Both LO revolve around my recent trip to Las Vegas I took in April.

Last, but not least, I have been wanting a place to out my LOs that are complete, but waiting for album placement. I altered this! It is by Kiaser Kraft and I really like it. The PP and embellishments are by g! Studio....get this....are you ready....the pack of PP that has 8 sheets was $1! And the brads and chipboard were as well. The thing is, it matches a lot of the Prima line nicely and it does not look dippy!

Countefeit Kit LO #2

I actually have completed a total of 3, but I really do not like the third one I have done. So, I will share the one that is okay:

So, the strangest thing happened to me yesterday as I was scrapping. I am all caught up on my housework and literally had nothing else to do except enjoy time in my scrapping room. Well, after my second LO I was uninspired. I honestly did not want to do it anymore. It was only 5 in the afternoon and I had a good three hours left that I could do it. It was not like I did not have pictures or anything to scrap. I even have a few cards that need to be made, but I simply did not want to do it.

I hate to admit it, but this has been happening more and more lately. I decided that even though I had a ton of my counterfeit kit left I was going to break it down back into my stash because I did not want to use it anymore. That is strange. I don't know what is going on with me, but I am starting to be okay with going inactive with CTMH and strictly living out of my stash. Then when all my PP is gone possibly just walking away from the hobby. WTH is wrong with me? I love pictures. I love art. I love documenting my life and my family, but I am wondering if I want to get more into writing and ditching the artsy part to it.

No worries. This feeling will not last long...I hope....or maybe I am getting ready to give it up?

Twisted Sketch Challenge

I have been following and sometimes using sketches from "Twisted Sketch". This week I decided to complete the LO Sketch Challenge in which I had to use glitter. You can find the challenge here:

This is what I came up with using the sketch. The color on this is so off and the whole thing looks a bit blurry. I am so sorry. It is actually one of he best LO I have done in a long time! Anyways, the paper I used has glitter on it and I also glittered the cute little Maya Road chipboard house. The Arizona title and state chipboard piece was a RAK by my good pal Nina! :-)

5 New Ones

I actually pulled out my Cricut to make the envies and tags for this LO!

Can you believe that it took me over 3 hours to complete this? Martha gave me the PP (because I loved it. LOL!) and she also inspired me to use my bug more! Basically once I cut the envies on the Cricut I ran them through my CB to emboss them, sanded them, and then inked them. I glimmer misted the base paper to make it match the PP (I tried to use some of the PP as the base, but it was to dark.). I then pulled out my stamps and made the swirls behind the flower. I also pulled out a punch to make the picture mats. Thankfully, since I took so long on it I like it!

This one was made from SU! paper. I love this paper! The flower I made from the matching fabric in the line. The flowers were originally white and I glimmer misted them blue.

The following two LOs were made with my "Counterfeit" kit that I put together. I actually have made 5 LOs with the kit! I am super happy about that because it got the stuff out of my stash!

This last LO is made with SU! product as well. It is actually the sewing line, but I thought it matched this picture well. Leave it to me to use paper and product in the exact opposite of how they should be used!

I can tell it is coming to the end of my scrappy time because I am trying to double up on challenges! LOL! I only have one more challenge as of now (#8)and will get to that just as soon as I upload this. So challenge 7 was to doodle on a LO. I did that on the flowers and stem. I so suck at doodling! LOL! Challenge 9 was to make and add layered flowers to a LO. I kind of cheated because I have had these die cuts forever, but the matched, so there you have it.

This is Marlene and she is *wonderful*. I really enjoyed getting to know her and she is so much fun! I can't wait to see her again the next time she is out my way.

Challenge 5 & 6

I combined challenge 5 & 6 on a LO. For challenge 5 I was to use Ephemera on a LO and I used the "Kickoff" book we got at the Cardinals game. For challenge 6 I was to pick either black or white and add one accent color. I picked white and added red. I did this silly LO about how I am missing my football now that it is March :-(

Online crop today over at OSU! Yippee! The first challenge was to make a LO using as many scraps as I could on a page. I was able to get 17 different scraps on this page. With those scraps I made 2 mats, 2 edges, the title, covered the chipboard, made the epoxy hearts and the five flowers.

Hot Of The Press Counterfiet Challenge Kit #1

I actually started this LO over the weekend. I used this paper by "Hot of The Press" that can be misted, inked, chalked, flocked, or whatever else you want to do with it! I was a bit worried when I saw how the paper came out once I got done glimmer misting it and inking it, but once I got the picture down I was happy with it. Can you tell I am trying to use up my Thickers? Those things are like rabbits --- they just multiply :-)

I sat down yesterday while my son finished up his school work and came up with this two page LO using the March Counterfeit kit that I put together. I am so pleased with this -- you have really no idea. See, I have had the penguin stamps and paper in my stash for at least two years. I was so tickled when I found this set because penguins are my favorite animal. I thought for sure I would use it up in a flash and have many uses for those cute little stamps, but it never happened. As I was putting the kit together I was able to see the paper mixed in way I did not envision before. Then I pulled out these left over pictures from my trip back home two years ago and came up with this:

I am not very good with two page LOs. I am a one page kind of girl, but I am so happy with this on so many levels. Feels good to use up my stash! TFL!

I have been asked if I would start posting challenges again. After this weekend of scrapping with some pals I am feeling refreshed and recharged. So, every two weeks I will post a new challenge. Once you complete the challenge post it on your blog and leave the link in the comment section to this post. This weeks challenge is all about PINK

Of course there is a twist! I mean come on a Pink challenge is not really a challenge at all, so here is the twist! It has to be a pink Layout about MEN (or boys).

Create Create and Create Some More

I was able to do three LOS this week. The first is not my favorite, but I am happy that I was able to use some of om stash! I love the owl paper and it has been in my bag of scraps for some time. Nice to get it on a LO!

Sugarland released a new song (Maybe it is just new to me) and I heard it on the radio this week. I fell in love with it right away. In fact, there were a few people I thought could relate to it and shared it. I had to scrap it because it was just to perfect! I have had this picture for a few years and knew it worked! I also have a slew of thickers that I would like to get rid of. Once the "e"s are gone I have a hard time using up all the thickers in the package. In fact, I would like to work through all my thickers and just go to stamping titles because I hate having left over alphas. So, I used my thickers to make the PP on the LO. Anyways, here is my LO:

I made all the flowers too. I had purchased this crinkle type paper from SU! awhile ago. Like usual, my eyes were bigger than my need and I bought way to much of it AND I really am not the crazy about it. I pulled out my silver roll and made these flowers the same way I make the fabric ones. I then glimmer misted them each a different color, added a center, bling and leaves. I LOVE them now :-)

Here is the close up of my paper I made with thickers. Basically all I did was cover a white 12 by 12 cardstock in thickers, painted them black, and used Glimmer Mist Chalkboard mist in charcoal.

I did this LO about a little tradition that the kids and I have. Basically, I don't like balloons in the car and we came up with a way to get rid of them before we get in the car and that is what this LO is about. There really are two balloons in the sky, but you really can't see them. The picture is not the main focus of the LO, but the journaling is:

Pay It Forward

On FB there is a "Pay It Forward" going on. Basically you make five people a gift over the year and send it to them. Well, one of the ladies that posted on my status is in Japan with her family and her DH is away on an assignment and will be missing Valentine's Day :-( So I decided to do a Valentine's Day themed gift for her. I won't get into all the stuff in the box, but I will share the handmade items I made :-)

First, I found this notebook on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $0.71. Ugly right? Right! Browse through the photos and see the Prayer Journal I made her out of it!

Up first is the card:

Here is the prayer journal. I liked her's so much that I made one for me (I posted the one I made for me before). This is the jean pocket off of my daughter's *Justice* jeans. I added the flower and bling to make it even more girly. I found the pencils at like Walgreens and thought they matched well.

Little clipboard that I included an erasable *To Do* list on or she can throw a picture on it.

I am working on two "Pay It Forwards" this week and will get a picture of one of them up as soon as I get it off :-) Thanks for looking!

Some Sunday Scrapping

I think my scrap stash threw up on this LO:

I actually really like it! I am one to want to mix and match different lines to give my stuff a unique look 'cause goodness knows I am different....my pages need to be too! LOL!

The following two LOs are done with the new "Sweet Heart" Line from CTMH and I made them for my B.O.M. The journal cards are Hiedi Swap (have had them in my stash for years.....YEARS I tell ya!) I have no clue who the letters are made by, but they are cute....forgot I had them. Insert red face here....Notice the fabric flower? I whipped that up in a matter of minutes!

I think I have scrapped these pictures more than once. I am pretty sure this is the fourth LO I have used them on. I am not an advocate for scrapping the same pictures over and over and over and over again, but I could not get them out of my head with this paper! So, I gave into my desire and scrapped them. Hope no one gets offended by them....

Making Fabric Flowers

I had to get out and try it at once, so I stopped by a little Quilting store (that I had never been in) and found all of this lovely fabric:

Now, what to do for the sticky circle? I had purchased a double sided adhesive sheet from Oriental trade awhile back (I got the idea from a kit club I belonged and used to design for a few years ago. I had this much left:

I used my circle cutter to make a circle like the one in the tutorial video:

This is my first attempt:

I then attached it to my prayer journal and added two leaves:

The center is a "Prima Center" that I had in my stash. The pocket is actually off of my daughter's old jeans. I have been needing a new prayer journal. I wanted one that could hold my pencils in, so I cam up with the above. I even bought matching pencils. Cute huh?

Five LO that Finished Off 2010!

My intention when I went into my scrappy space yesterday was not to finish off my 2010....but I am sure glad I did! I actually wanted to play with the new Valentine's Day line from CTMH that I had bought. However, once I started putting a few completed LOs I had lying around in the album I realized how close 2010 was to being done. So I created these five LOs to finish it off.

For the last two years I have been scrapping chronologically and putting my album together month by month. Though I like the organization of the albums that way, it really is starting to affect my creative mojo. So, for 2011 I am going to just scrap what I feel like and focus more on the stories behind the photos. I am also going to walk away from my beloved D Ring Binder type albums and go back to the poster bound. The test of time has held up with the poster bound album (especially my CTMH ones) better than the D Ring. I love the connivance of the D Ring, but I have always been less impressed with what it looks like. I want to get back to the story telling of scrapbooking. Maybe scrap less pages, but with more depth. KWIM?

Dec. 25 Big Win LO

I got more CTMH today (I am addicted to their new stuff!) and this is one of the workshops I got:

Isn't it pretty? It is Valentine themed and I so could not wait to put together my VDay cards with it. I also picked up the new "Magic" book and all I can say is "WOWZERS"! I found the following LO in it and was totally inspired to create a LO from the sketch using the new Sweetheart Workshop I got. Here is the LO I lifted from the book (I have all of the PP and embellishments for it if I wanted to lift it exactly LOL):

So, that is the LO and I am using the new stuff I got to make it. You would think it would be Valentine day related, but it is not! It is actually Christmas football!

It gets better! Take a look at this bottom flap:

Lift the flap and there you find all of our tickets for the game:

Just goes to show, that even though the kit is Valentine Day themed it can be used on other stuff! I mean go from "girly" to "football" is really versatile! I did use thickers from my stash as well as the poinsettias. I used the poinsettias because I wanted to reflect that it was a Christmas thing! Thanks for looking :-)

New LOs with Wings from CTMH

In my last post I showed you some sneak peaks of some of the new CTMH that will be hitting the market in Feb. Today I am going to show you some of the things that I created with the "Wings" line from CTMH. I am so tickled with what CTMH is coming out with in the next season! They have come up with these kits that are $29.95 and include a step by step guide on making LOs and cards with each kit. I, however, did not use the guide (but I have a ton of product left over I may go to it to finish off what I have). Here is what I came up with:

I made the flower in the lower corner with my circle punch, PP and a brad. I also stamped the two roses that are under it and placed the images on pop dots.

I was originally not going to use this picture with this kit, but when I accidentally set my pictures that I had printed down on top of the "Wings" kit it screamed "USE ME!". Don't you love the alpha? It is called Bohemian and is a lot of fun!

I had to have this adorable white chipboard banner! I made a banner for my scraproom with it....I thought it would use up the rest of my PP from the kit. I was so wrong!

This is hands down my very favorite LO that I have created with "Wings". I used an entire pack of rub ons from MME Laundry Line (thanks Kylie for the inspiration). I then pulled out my all white flowers that I got from CTMH about a year ago and misted them. I stamped the shoe (It is the Jan. stamp of the month), cut it out and covered it in liquid glass.

A quick LO of my son with the "Wings" kit. I was happy it could be used with a boy!

One of the new neatest things CTMH has out are little misting bottles that you mix your reinker, shimmer paint and water in to create your own mist that matches perfectly with whatever LO you are working on. Now, the company does not recommend storing your mist in these bottles because it can clog them up. I have found that they are also a great alternative to my Tattered Angle Mist because a lot of my nozzles on those are clogged! So, what I do is I shake up my TA mist and pour a desired amount into my CTMH mister and mist away. Then, I pour the left overs back into my original TA bottle and rinse my CTMH misters! The CTMH misters are really affordable too! (3 for under $5) If you would like to purchase the "Wings" kit you get one mister with it! :-)

A Few New Ones

I was finally able to sit down, scrapbook, and found the motivation to do it! The last three weeks I have just not had the desire to create. In fact, I had lost my desire for it so much that I considered shrinking my stash down and trying to get out of it all together. Thankfully I got the itch this week and was able to scratch it. LOL!
I found a store that sells Thrifty ice cream -- the ice cream I used to love to get at the store "Thrifty" when I was growing up. I was so tickled when I ran across it that I just had to do a Layout on it.

I am part of a Stampin' Up! Hostess club and this was made with this month's order. I thought it would go perfectly with my daughter's photo of her on the day she earned Student of the Month.

Do you like the cool leopard flower on this? I love it! I used a ton of GM on this too! My daughter dancing down on the pier where I grew up.

Notice the flower in my daughter's hair? I bought a pack of them at a craft show. I used it on the above LO and I made a hair clip for my daughter out of another one!

I got this water color paper from SU! This little whatever it is a huge mistake. I originally wanted to use some mist on it and stamp a bucking horse but it flopped. So I GM the heck out of it and then came up with this. I have no idea what I am going to do with it, but there it is.

Just a LO I did of some left over stuff in my stash. Kids are enjoying the first few days of fall at their school playground.

Ever have photos you want to have in your book because they are an important thing to your family traditions, but don't have a clue how to scrap them? This is it for me! Everything on this LO came from a swap I did a few years ago. Nice to get it used up AND I kind of like the LO!

We have this Christmas village that Parker was determined to learn how to turn on. Well, he figured it out and this is a LO about it. I actually lifted this idea from a CK magazine.

Holiday Challenge #4 (The Last and Final One)

I actually do not have this challenge done yet! I have had it planned for about 6 weeks, but I am still waiting on the prodcuts I ordered to come in the mail so I can complete it. Once I get them and get it done I will upload the images. Sorry I have no example for you :-(

With that being said, the challenge is to alter or make a Christmas Countdown Calander. I am cheating and using the little take out box premade thingy from SU!

This will be the last challenge for the holiday. Personally, we are hitting the busy time! Two of my three kiddos have birthdays between now and Christmas, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and family coming in. I may start some challenges up in 2011. I will also upload some Layouts and projects I complete in the mean time. So check back often, okay? :-)

Holiday Challenge #3!

I know this is a day early, but I have a very busy weekend ahead of me and it starts in in about an hour! So, with that being said, I want you to get ready for your holiday pictures. I don't know about you, but I am far to busy to do much scrapping during the season and by the time I have time to sit down after the first of the year I am sick and tired of all the holiday colors and such. So finding inspiration after the fact is just too hard. I like to create a mini album for the season and then display them as decorations over the the following years. You may like to do a Layout for your album, so whatever it is get started on it! Do a LO or album and leave room for your pictures. That way when you are done all you have to do is slap the photos down!

This is what I started with:

It is a 9 by 9 inch accordion mini album by CTMH. I have had it it my stash for years and never knew what to do with it. It really is not my style. I just have it because it was a promo one year. I turned it into this:

The first holiday that we celebrate that never has a good LO after the fact is Thanksgiving, so I made this:

I know it is not the typical Fall colors, but...well....ummmmmm....I am sick of the typical fall colors, so I pulled out this line from Basic Gray that I had in my stash and used it. I also threw in the typical fall PP from Cosmo Cricket that I have tons of to make it a little more Thanksgivingish!

Sorry this is out of order. I had a hard time uploading today and some of the pictures did not even upload correct, so sorry. I hope you can get the idea though! Anyways, I sealed up the accordion and made it into a pocket for the kids' letters to Santa. We have a tradition (it is actually a German tradition) in which the kids write letters to Santa, stick them in their shoe, and then wake up the next morning to find a small toy or treat as a hint to what Santa will bring them on Christmas.

My boys have their Birthday a week a part from each other. Logan's is right after Thanksgiving! We have a big party for them between the two days (yes on their day they still get a cake, balloons, their choice of meal, and their presents from us)and we call it Brother's Day. I always like to include it in the Holiday album.

Here is the Christmas page. I really like this one for this year. I stink at designing Holiday pages, but this year I love it!

I stamped her (CTMH), used my tonic markers to color her in, and used this puffy type stuff to make the snow. I then pop dotted her and placed her on the page making sure to leave an open space to slip a picture under it.

The following photos show how I made my pocket. First I used my oval cutter and cut half an oval on one of the flaps:

Next, I placed a continuous strip of adhesive around the edges:

Finally I sealed it up! Now, instead of an accordion album I have a useful 4 page mini album!

Holiday Challenge #2!

Are you ready for a new challenge? I actually have two for you today. Originally it was going to be one, but some of you I thought were itching for a Layout challenge so I came up with one of those to! So here is your first hint regarding the first challenge:

Carmel apples? Say what? Do you think you know what it could be about?

Here is another hint:

Now do you get it? I want you to create a LO with "apples" as part of it. It can be an embellishment, photo, title, or paper. I love this time of year because we have great produce and my family's favorite has to the be apple. Here is my Layout for this challenge:

My homemade apple pie that is huge is what I scrapped about. I also stamped the apples In the pail and played with my Copic Markers to color them in! Again, you don't have to do a LO about apples, just incorporate apples into the LO. You could do something about fall or the first day or school or something like "The Apple of My Eye". Just be creative and spend some time creating!

Now, this was my original challenge: Make favor boxes for your Thanksgiving table or Halloween. Or alter something as a hostess gift if you are not cooking this year. I usually do not do dreary and scary for Halloween, but decided to alter these boxes for my kids. I was kind of sick of looking at the typical orange, brown, and purple I usually do for Halloween. Instead, I took three take out containers that I had in my stash for like FOREVER and glimmer misted them. I then altered the fronts with Waffle paper and a few different embellishments. I finished each box off with the first initial of my child's name. Here they are:

Challenge Oct. 1

Are you ready for the upcoming holiday season? I don't know about you, but I can't wait! This is by far my very favorite time of the year. To kick off the holiday season your first challenge is two fold. First, make your holiday cards! I know it is early to do this, but it always seems that a week before the holiday is when I get around to making the cards and I don't even enjoy the process because I am in such a hurry to get them in the mail. This year I want to enjoy the process! Take the next two weeks to get a good dent, if not all of your holiday cards done! Here are a few of mine:

Now, don't stress about this. I am actually not a card maker. I have to lift ideas all the time and that is okay. If you are having a hard time coming up with ideas then just use a sketch or lift the cards that I made.
Ready for part two of your challenge? I want you to address them, seal them, and put a stamp on them. Now, you may be thinking "but if I make all my holiday cards how am I gonna know which ones to mail off and when?" Of course you are not going to put your Christmas cards in the mail right now. I know this, but you can keep track of them by placing a small decorative stamp in the lower right corner of the envie. For example, if they are Halloween then you can stamp a pumpkin. Or for Thanksgiving you can stamp a turkey or leaves. Don't have a stamp? Then put a sticker on them. Or you can take an orange pen, for example, and draw a heart for the cards going out for Halloween and a different pen for the other set of cards. By doing this you stay organized and on top of things and your recipient thinks that you are so wonderful and thoughtful for sending a handmade card in a cute envie ;-)

A New Challenge?

I am putting together a few challenge series that will begin at the first of the year. The goal is to get into our scrappy spaces, create, and strengthen relationships with others. I will post a new challenge and an example of it once a week. You will have one week to complete it and post the link to a picture of your creation here in the comment section of my blog. So, please stay tuned!

In the mean time, I am going to have a mini Holiday challenge series starting in October to get us through the next three months (October, Nov, and Dec). What makes this a "mini" challenge? Instead of a weekly challenge it will be every other week. Check back often because I am going to post the first challenge soon!

I can't wait to create and be inspired by you ladies -- my players. ;-D

I actually have done 13 LOs for the month....wow! That is like almost a LO a day. I did not even try to do that. Woo-hoo! I only uploaded ten of them because I forgot to take pictures of the other three and they are already in my album. What can I say? I am lazy.

This first one I *heart*. It was soooo much fun to make with paint and such on the stars. I was able to use the new Tattered Angle Glam too!

I am pretty sure I have scrapped this picture before. LOL! I actually used the "Prima" packaging for the half circle above the picture.

Love love love this picture! Parker at the preseason Cards game. He kept yelling "Let's go Arizona Cardinals. Kick their little hiney butts!" He put his cap on backwards to watch the game. It is just soooo cute!

All of this page was done from my stash. I never thought I would ever use those button brads!

This page is busy, but I think the pictures make it ok! Pretty simple actually. I did not use any special techniques or anything and got the page done in about 15 minutes.

This page was a lot of fun to do! I got to use a ton of new goodies on it like paint, TA Glam and some of my old grunge board from my stash!

August Uploads

I have had a few private E-mails asking me why it is taking me so long to upload my scrappy blog. There are two reasons. The first, I have started homeschooling and my time is limited. The second, I am having to use a different camera and it takes a lot of time to get the pictures from the first computer (my laptop can not download from the disk) to this computer then to the blog. So, one of two things is going to happen. I am either going to have to upload about once a month or not at all. I am sure it will go in spurts, but at the present time my time is really limited. Regardless, here are the uploads for the month of August!

I used the back side of one of the Christmas Prima Paintable pages that I would never ever use and created this page with watercolor crayons to kind of mimic the colors my son used in his painting. I then used this medium by a company called Golden and painted over that. I added some glitter on the edges, painted the stars, and Glimmer misted the packaging to chipboard stars I had saved. To do the title I just used this really cool spray called "Smooches". I flipped over the transparency letters and sprayed them.

This LO I used Paper Trunk pp on. I have had this pp in my stash for about three years and finally broke it out. I really love it! I made the lollipop flower out of a pair of old jeans. I then cut apart the jeans and added a small strip along the bottom of the first word in the title. The title I stamped with Poster Alpha stamps from CTMH, cut them out, and added pop dots to every other letter.

All I can say is this LO is done! I have a hard time with Birthday Layouts -- as you can see!

This LO was originally suppose to be three separate pages. However, my book is getting really full so I decided to make it into one. I made it at the end of summer and just did a summary of what we did all summer long. Homemade pizza, parks, and the movies.

This is mostly CTMH supply. I made the flower at the bottom by using a circle punch and then folding each circle and lining them up to make the flower.

I used the backside of some very ugly pp I got in a C2P kit. Gag! This stuff was hard enough to use the first time around. However, once I flipped it over and used the backside it was perfect for this! Once again I made the flower with those old jeans. We were in Texas and found the only NFL shop that was really a Dallas Cowboy shop. So, we just had to take the picture. The LO is a total joke :-P

I actually am not very happy with this LO, but it is done.

My Mom has amazing flowers around her home and this was my very favorite! I just used my circles cutter to cut the rings and flowers from my stash.

This is so my style! I think this is one of the most beautiful LOs I have ever done. Most all of it is by Prima, however I did make the flowers using my Cricut and the heart setting on it.

Here is a close up of the flowers. First I cut out 18 hearts in three different sizes, inked the edges, put a hole in the bottom of each of them, layered them then crumpled them up, pulled apart the crumpled up hearts, and sprayed with smooches (I think I like "Smooches" better than GM because it is so vibrant!). I then added blingy centers by Prima and now I have beautiful flowers!

I made the swirl with a template and small bling pieces.

Finally, the last one! I used another product by Smooches. It comes in like a nail polish bottle and can be used on transparency. This is a Prima transparency that I flipped over, painted and then flipped back over. Why flip? Because if a little paint gets on the black line it does not show on the other side! I then adhered it to bling CS, made the swirl and added some flowers.

All of these were created from my stash. I must admit that I have an unusually large stash and said I could scrap out of it for the next ten years. However, it has been about a year since I have been using it and I must confess, I would love to get some new things. My PP is not nearly as abundant as it was. I am glad that I have been digging in my stash to create and I must say that my creativity has really been challenged. I think I have grown as an artist because of it! Thanks for looking!

Starting A New Album

First, I must apologize for my crappy uploads recently. As you may know, my nice little point and shot died on me and I am using the big professional grade camera that we have. Well, not recently...recently I have been using my camera on my Droid Incredible. Can we say the photos of the LOs are less than incredible? Ummmm....yes we can! The color on these are horrible and I am sorry. The camera on the phone itself is actually not half bad, but for LOs it get two thumbs down!
I ran across over 2000 photos last night from my birth on. I started scrapping when I got married and decided at the time not to even try to attempt to scrap anything from before 1998. Well, I had a recent health scare that we are still trying to work through and I have decided that it may be best if I do scrap my history and those photos. Do I think I am gonna get them all scrapped? Not a chance! But, I can at least start to get some of them done. Some is better than nothing right?
This album is different than any other album I have done in that I am not scrapping in any particular order or making order in my book. One page may be from 1991 and the next from 1975. This helps take the pressure off of me and allow me to concentrate on getting my historical moments on paper. I am not wasting a ton of time organizing and trying to remember what year this or that was taken. All that does is frustrates me and I just don't get it done.
Here are the first two pages I did for the album (I also know that right now it is "the" album, but it could turn into "the" shelf. I got 23 years to scrap!)

This is a LO I did of my Grandpa Love (yes, his last name really was LOVE!). I discuss where he originally was from, where he met my Grandma, and the NJROTC dance I took him to (he fought in WW II).

This is my favorite picture of my Dad and I ever. It is not the best picture, but the memory behind it always leaves me warm and fuzzy. In the picture, in that moment, right when the camera snapped I knew beyond a shadow of doubt that my Dad loved me and was very pleased with me for something I gave him for Christmas. Oh, and of course I remember the gift! :-)

Both of these men have since passed on to be with the Lord. I did not mention that on my pages because I have already done a memory album for my Dad. If it comes out in this album that is fine, but my point of this album is not to focus on the death and all the feelings I have for them surrounding that, but rather on their life. The events that shaped my childhood and the family I come from. Of course, their death will most likely be mentioned in the album, but that is not the main focus.

I was looking at a friend of mine's LOs and was inspired. I love her style! I noticed that she usually only used one or two embellishments and a few different sheets of PP. So, I came up with a challenge for myself! The challenge was:

The LO is about my fav. time of day in which I get to sneak in a few minutes after my shower to read. Yes, this is my with no make up on and my hair all pulled back. I don't like the picture, but could not convey the message without me just as God made me.

Is It Really the End of the Month?

I can't believe it is the end of May! This has been an emotionally hard month for me because school is out (kids getting older), Parker graduated from Preschool (no longer a baby), and Awana Award ceremony. With that being said, I actually have not scrapped much this month. It is not that I did not have the time, it has just been that I have not been that in to it. Regardless, here are the 9 LOs that I did manage to get done since that last time I posted. For those of you who know me I usually can sneeze and create 9 LOs, but not lately. I used a charcoal bag on Parker's preschool graduation. Thanks for looking :-)

Lots of Stuff!

My camera ran out of juice and I could not find the charger! Finally found it and was able to take pictures of some of the stuff I have made the last week. I ordered one of the new lines from CTMH. It is really suppose to go with amusement park pictures (Disney is what they showcase on it), but I had to have it! I discovered that is is great for my boys' photos! I really love the paper and it matches a lot of the "Magical" line from CTMH that was released a few years ago that I have in my stash. I also was able to dig out my bubble punch that I paid way to much money for and did not use nearly as much. Thanks to Malinda, my scrappy pal, I totally lifted her idea from her OSU telephone scrap lift challenge!

This is what I did with the left over from my BG class at the LSS. I now only have one sheet left. Woo-hoo! I really love love love this LO!

I have seven teachers that I wanted to gift something to at the end of the year. Well, I am needing to be more economical so I came up with this memo board. The 4 by 6 clear frame was $1.19 at Target and it stands. I then got a pack of mini dri erase markers that were $.60 a piece. I attached the marker and thank you tag with a piece of ribbon and the whole thing cost me a total of $1.80! I added a button for some depth. I hope it looks thoughtful and not cheap. I also wanted something that is practical and not just a dust collector for each teacher. What do you think?

I really needed to keep my teacher gifts under $20 (I know that sounds impossible, but I did)so I opted to make the gift bags. I am so scared that this is screaming "CHEAP!". I used my kids paper lunch bags. I placed a Heidi Swapp mask on each bag, sprayed it with some GM in three different shades, added a few pieces of bling that I bought in bulk awhile ago, folded the top over, punched two holes, and tied a bow with ribbon from my stash. I just hope this gift does not scream "TACKY!"

The Apple Falls Not Far From the Tree

My nine year old son, Logan, was selected for an award in a local art show. His teacher submitted his work for him, but did not tell him until Logan won. Logan is struggling in school. In fact, he down right hates school, but his art teacher he loves. Logan reads at about a first grade level, reverses his letters, runs funny, and is a resource student. He also thinks he is dumb. I am homeschooling him next year because I have to build his self confidence and focus on his strengths and interests. His art teacher has agreed to work with Logan next year even though he will be home schooled. Look at my proud little guy! Oh, and his art teacher said that he has not ever seen a child that can think as abstractly and such a high level at this age...so my kid ain't dumb!

BG Class LO

I am taking a class at my LSS that creates a two page LO using BG. There are 5 reasons that I signed up for the class.
1) I hate BG and want to learn how to use it and like it.
2) I get a lot of product for the cost.
3) I need to make more friends locally.
4) I love my LSS and want to support her so she does not close her doors.
5) I stink at making two page LOs and need help.

I really believe that in order to grow as an artist/scrapper I must challenge myself and all the above reasons do indeed do just that!

Now, since I have a new found love of making my own flowers, don't you think this would be easy to make? I mean BG charges like $5 for three of these flowers. I bet I could make them with pipe cleaners and left over brads for pennies! As soon as I find my kids' pipe cleaners I am gonna try because they are darling!

Over the Weekend....

I finished up our trip to Legoland. Parker finally got to ride his first roller coaster. He was so excited! The picture is funny because the look of sheer terror on his face! However, once we got off he wanted to go again!

Logan love Bionicles, so naturally he wanted pictures with a lot of them. I tried to make a lego border on the top of he page using the photo matte the picture of Parker and I on the roller coaster came in. I had to tear it down, cut it up, and piece it back together. I then hated what it looked like so tried to put the title on it and the location block over it. Now I acually like the LO!

I took this picture on Easter with my sister. I LOVE this picture of us! I attempted to make the large flower out of old dictionary paper. I then glimmer misted it and popped a vintage button on it. I think I like it.....

Who Says the Desert is UGLY?

Well, I did of course! I have changed my mind and actually think it is beautiful in it's own special way. Here are a few LO I did of the beauty that can be found in the desert! All of these were made from my stash with the exception of the flower that Aleta (I think?) made for a homemade flower swap (which is proving to be the best swap I have ever participated in because I am really getting a lot of use from the flowers! Oh, I also learned how to make them!)

Lovin' The Stash!

I completed these two LOs today ALL from my stash! I have had this picture of my daughter for about 4 months. My friend, Aleta, gave my family Christmas gifts this last Christmas and she make Annie and I matching aprons. I wear mine all the time and so does my daughter. In fact, she tried to go to school with it on today! She loves to help in the kitchen just so she can wear the apron! I wanted to do a really good LO with her in the apron. I was looking through Queen and Co. DT and fond a LO I loved and knew I was gonna lift it! So this is what I came up with:

The flowers on the second LO were from a homemade flower swap (I think Kylie made them. A few of he flowers on the first LO were also from that same swap (I think it was Tricia and Marinka who made the ones I used). TFL!

Here is a LO I did last night about the cherry pie my sister made and the two poses! She looks like the Borax/Borox chick in the last one. Did I spell it right? I don't know! I can't spell! LOL! Some Good Mojo!

I am so happy! I finally got a good dose of creative mojo going today. I wanted to finally finish scrapping our trip to San Diego. I did it! Not only did I just "get er done", I took my time and completely enjoyed scrapping today!
This first one was the last one I completed. I apologize for the poor lighting, but it was after 9 PM when I got it done and I had to take it into the bathroom to get a picture of it. I was just so excited that I had to get it up ASAP! Almost everything I used on it is CTMH. It is about my very favorite glasses (COACH) and the last time I wore them. I am trying to make an effort to journal more on my pages. The journal on this talks about how I was waiting for the elevator at our hotel in San Diego and my glasses fell off my head. I just picked them up and put them back on totally ignoring that my vision was weird. I walked along the boardwalk, sat at the pool, and even met some executives (big wigs at my husband's business meeting) with the glasses on. I could not understand why people would give me funny looks or just look away. I soon discovered that one of the lens must have popped out when I dropped them because I only had one left! I must have looked like a modern day pirate or something with one eye covered!

This LO was also done with CTMH. Only, the main page I used was one of those pages that have slots for your pictures. Well, I HATE those types of pages, but really liked the colors on it so made it work! The green tag is actually glossy CS that I alcohol inked on and then stamped with stazon ink for the image. I really like how this one turned out as well! I love the boardwalk and that is what the journal discuses.

A Few New Ones

We had this picture taken in Texas. I did a swap where we made a monthly page in which we left a spot for a photo and journal. I made this page for the swap.

Believe it or not, I have been planing this page for quite some time. I don't know if I like how it has turned out yet...

I love these pictures of Cider (our Golden) and knew Origins Basic Grey would work well with them. I am not a Basic Grey fan, but I am taking a class at my LSS to learn how to use them. This is made with some of the extra stuff from the class.

Ruth, from my swap, actually created this page. I just slapped a picture of my son, Parker, on it and did some journaling. I am HORRIBLE at journaling and trying to improve that. Ironic because I love to use words, but I hate my hand writing. I am really insecure about it. I don't want to type all the journaling because it is important that future generations see the pages as authentic as possible.

I like this LO! The story on it is kind of funny. These are the eggs that we colored this year at my sister's house. She boiled 84 eggs! There were five children and 4 adults supervising, but after the first 60 eggs the kids bailed! It left the adults to do the rest of the coloring. LOL!

This is the LO I made in the BG class. I usually don't do two page LO's, but this turned out good. It is about our family date night to the hockey game!

3 Layouts

When we were in San Diego I fell in love with these painted murals all over the streets there! So, I used a Prima Paintable and came up with this LO. I think it is hot.....

Why did I do a LO on a shoe? Well, because I LOVED this shoe! I wanted this shoe, but they were out of it in my size. I have looked all over for one just like it and I can't find any. So, in memory of the shoe I did this LO! I know, I am crazy....truth of the matter is I had the PP an stuff that I wanted to use and the picture matched.

I got my second and final swap kit for the month. It came from my friend Marinka. She made this beautiful kit with pinks, browns, and greens. Now, granted this kit would be quite lovely for LOs of my daughter (which I have lots of to do!), but did I do that? Nope! I actually used it with pictures of my youngest son who is all boy and I love the way it turned out! I am even going to use this kit to document him riding his bike for the first time. TFL!

4 New Ones

I went to my LSS and saw this fantastic 7 gypsie stuff and Melody Ross (I think that is the name. It is a new company)and new I had to have it! The CS is Bazil swiss dots from my stash.

The next three LOs are made with the kit Tara sent me. I have done a total of five form her kit and there is still a lot left over. I am really loving playing with suck a colorful collection of goodies. On the prima paintable I used watercolor pencils, water pencil crayons, Glimmer Mist, and Smooches. I had never used Smooches before and did not know what the big deal was about it, but I LOVE it!

Junk to Art

I made this last night in about three hours. Isn't it beautiful? I wanted to make it for my purple scrap studio, but when I finished it my family wanted to see it every day too! I was so touched by how much they liked it! It is now happily hanging on a wall for all to see! :-)

Sweet Time

I am a pretty quick scrapper, but this week I have been so slow. It is like I am taking my sweet time and I don't have a lot of it!

It took me all day to complete this LO and I don't know why so long. I painted the hearts, back stitched them, glimmer misted the page, and used flowers from my flower swap on this.

We had a swap at OSU where we out together a kit from our stash and mailed it to another lady. This LO is made from the kit Tara put together for me. I made the flower on the cricut and used the metallic rubs she sent on the flower and glimmer misted it.

Wow it has been awhile since I have uploaded on here, but I have been busy.

Did this one with all stash. Is it just me, or are Stickles not as great as they used to be.

This is the Layout I did for the Feb. Scrap lift at OSU. I really like it! All done with stash. The butterfly is actually from a floral arrangement I found for $1 at Hobby Lobby.

LO I did with a lot of CTMH stuff I had on hand. The flowers were made by Val in the handmade flower swap.

The last two are made with the swap kits for OSU. Basically I had to use one of each thing in each kit.

Desperate for a Kit

I love kits! The problem is with the economy I have not been able to really afford them. Plus, I have just gotten....well...picky. I think I am scrappy snob or something because if I don't like the entire kit than I don't want to spend any money on it or if there is too much PP in it than I don't want it either because that is the one thing I have too much of. There are are some great kits out there that I fall in love with every month -- like Bad Girls! But, Bad Girls Kits are $129 a month....ummmm...that is just not happening for me. So today, I decided to spend $40 at the scrap booking store and create my own kit for myself. I wanted a technique because I am getting bored with what I know how to do. SO, I found bling templates! Now I can use those left over rhinestones and pearls to create cool designs with.

Here is what I got for $40 and now I appreciate so much why kits seem light these days -- they are expensive! I really don't feel like I got a lot, but I had fun mixing five paper lines together and I am not really sure if this matches to anyone else, but it matches for me so all is right in the world!

I then came home and dug through my stash. See, I can not in good conscious not try to use some of my stash. I really am resourceful and want to use it. Once I pulled everything from my stash (including CS, primas, flowers, a pocket of my child's old jeans, buttons, ribbons, pearls, journal spots, and every thing else I can't think of) I stood back and looked at all the pretties and imagined just what I would create with this lovely kit. So here is a picture of the final kit!

I then briefly thought I could actually start designing kits, but then I realized that people probably felt the same way I did and would not want to spend that much money on a kit. See, once the kit was complete it could retail for about $150 and that is just too much..what is even more sad is that this was not even a dent in my stash...

A Layout of Tribute

I grew up in a rough town and I am sad to say that my HS is closing down :-( This is so sad for me. My Mom was the first graduating class in 1963. Exactly 30 years later (1993) I graduated and in 2010 the district has decided to close it's doors :-( I painted the tittle our school color. I then used a grunge feel to it to show how rough the school was. The black shows the saddness of the closing of school. The bricks reperesent the walls of racial division that still need to come down. The butterflies show that even through it all the school did produce students of beauty and the opportunity to fly. So long Hogan forver in my heart you will be :-(

Three Layouts I Completed Today

I took my sweet time today with my cute little Sleepy that I put on pop dots! Broke out the Cricut and cut that cute little guy out. I used CTMH PP, 2 stamp sets, flowers, and buttons.

I am not caught up in all the kiddos school albums! I used the BG Recess line again. I also used two stamps from CTMH, colored them in, cut 'em out, and pop dotted them on the LO! This is simple for my style, but I really do not like doing school Layouts.

This is a Hodge podge of stuff I had for Annie's 1st grade page for her school album and I love it! The picture of the kids at the school table is actually a page from a book that I cut down and inked the pages. I did not mind doing this page. Actually, I enjoyed it. I think I don't like the paper and embellishments that are designed for a certain topic. I always do better with things I love and doing my own creation with it -- like I did on this LO! :-)

Some Recent Creations

Here are a few things I have done this last week.
This is a LO I completed about the scariest day of my life! It was the day I could not find my four year old at the play area in Sea World. He is a monkey and was climbing up the rope ladder. I could not keep up, but by the time I got down and to the exit he was gone! He was gone for 45 minutes and we almost had the police out there. Then he showed up. I was a wreck and could not decide it I was just gonna cover him in kisses or ring his little neck.....his dad bought me a beer and hand him pose with it. No, he did not drink the beer!

I am really behind on my kids school album, so these are the few I did to catch Logan up on his. It is the Basic Grey Recess line and I actually think it is OK. Not my best work, but done.

Created this clear album for a friend from HS Christmas pictures. Once again I made the flowers using my Cricut, CS, ink and GM.

These are my Valentine Cards! I found an awesome company called "Bombshell Stamps" that specialize in pin up girls, tattoos, and hot rods. Totally up my ally!

Handmade Flowers

I have NEVER EVER made flowers. I have made lollipop flowers, but those are easy. Since I have never ever made flowers I decided to sign up for four slots in a swap at OSU and these are my first attempts. Each flower is made with 18 hearts cut on my Cricut from Canvas Colored CS that I GMed the heck out of once I got the flowers made. Aleta (hostess of the swap and my friend) put up some awesome tutorials. I used one of them to complete these. I am a bit nervous.....these ladies do excellent work and I feel totally out of my league.

Please leave me feedback and tell me how I can improve these because I don't want to send crappy flowers.

More Bad Girls Layouts!

First day of winter break for my kiddos and I had to have a scrap break last night and this morning! LOL! I completed the following 4 LOs. The first one I used the Bad Girl kit for March 09, Oct 08, and one of the add on kits for Dec 08 and my stash! The pink circle flower in the bottom corner I made out of a pair of jeans my daughter thrashed (so happy about this because the pockets on them are really cute and will look adorable on a LO!.

Add on Dec 0 kit from Bad Girls is what I used to complete this. The bling brads are from my stash.

I went old school on this and love it! Dec 08 add on kit from Bad Girl. I cut out the picture of my boys (that is when I went old school -- I never cut out a photo. Oh, the brads are from my stash.

Oct 08 bad girl kit. One of the items in this kit was shipping tape with a design on it. I bunched it up and made a circles with it. I was kid of worried about it when I first started and tried to remove it, but it was not coming up, so I just had to finish what I started and crossed my fingers that it would work out and it did! :-)

More Bad Girls Layouts!

This LO is done with the March 2009 bad girls kit.

This one is done with the March 2009 kit as well. Now, there is more to the title. It is totally sarcastic! I have this joke that when I got married they should have given me a stupid pill to take with my vitamins everyday because the family I married into really think that men are superior to woman and women are not capable of making good choices. It dawned on me that I had made my own choices and done a good job of it! Why should I turn "stupid" when I got married? Anyways, the rest of the title is suppose to be "who would have thought? Better take the Stupid Pill!"

This is my favorite LO that I did last night. I have had this picture of my daughter for a year and could not find the right thing to scrap it with. I love the picture and really did not want to do a Layout until I was happy with it. This is done with the March 2009 kit as well and it was the Thickers that sold me on it! I knew the thickers was just what the picture needed. The arrow and two journal spots are from my stash!

Another Layout using the March 08 Bad Girl Kit that I got on sale. Everything with the exception of the flower and brad in upper corner is from kit! I used Tim Holtz Distressing ink pad in weathered wood on tags and then Glimmer Misted them with a few different shades of pink that I have. TFL!

Wow! It has been a loooooooooong time since I have uploaded anything! The sad thing is with the exception of scrapping a few cards for my family, I have not scrapped since uploading the last images. Life is very busy and full! I really did not have time to scrap today, but so needed just a few hours off. I love the Bad Girls Kits, but can't afford them. On Black Friday www.badgirlskits.com had a 40% off sale -- including kits! This was the first time ever offered and I broke down and bought three. Here is one of the layouts I did with it. I can't show the other one because it is part of the December scraplift at OSU! TFL!

Woo-Hoo Christmas Album 08 DONE!

First, here is my album. I found two of these albums at Costco about a year ago. I was not planing on altering them, but I changed my mind....brown was not Christmas enough for me.....at least now it has the year on it! The first picture is what it was before I altered it and the second is the final product!

I did the following album with scraps -- no joke -- all scraps. I actually am pleased with them considering what I had to work with.

The following LO is one of my favorites because I was able to get the letters to Santa AND the pictures of the kids writing the letters, picture of them with their shoes, AND a description of the tradition on one 12 by 12 LO. I love the CTMH Flaps that allowed me to do this. Sorry for the glare on these, but in order to finish the LO I had to slip it in the page protector and add the flaps on that.

The last five pages of the book. I am really shocked that I got this album done! I have been working on it for about a month off and on. I really wanted to have this out complete on our coffee table and now it will be! Yay!

This mini album I did I actually lifted the idea from my friend Kylie. Her album is amazing and you should go check it out. Mine is not nearly as purty as hers is and I think it is bigger just because with the family we do so much through out the holidays. When I first started this I was afraid I would not have much to talk about, but now I can see just how much we do!

November LOAD 1 - 4 and a Sneaky Peaky!

I am still getting into the holiday spirit! The first three LOs are of last Christmas/winter activities. My goal is to get the album done enough to have out on the coffee table when I decorate in THREE WEEKS for Christmas.

Not loving this first LO, but it is done and the pictures on it are cute!

I really like this one of my daughter looking out the window. No pattern paper on it! I starting to use less PP and more CS which is really strange for me.

My little Elves! I love my kids. They are the light of my world. I don't know what kind of person I would be without them. They are so cute too!

This is just a Sneaky Peaky of the LO I completed for the Nonmember Telephone Lift challenge at OSU. I made these flowers. I got the idea from the Prima ones I saw about a year ago. True mine are not as detailed. I don't have as many layers, but I do like the button better than the brad prima uses. I used my son's old pair of jeans, a scrap piece of paper, and a button to make them. I just don't think I will ever spend $5 for two from Prima when I can make them for nothing! The jeans had holes in them and I was gonna toss them. Plus, they are super duper easy to make. I mean all you have to do is trace a circle and cut it out than attach the layers! Did I mention how cheap they are to make? LOL!

It is Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas (LOADS 33 - 35)

I know, I know, it is early for Christmas. However, in years past by the time I get the Christmas photos ready to scrap the last thing I want to do is look at more Christmas stuff. So, this year I am gonna do last years Christmas stuff done before to get me in the mood. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas!

This first one is not my favorite. I wanted to get the tickets from the Polar Express on the page.

This is a picture of Santa giving Annie a bell. It was sooooo sweet!

My very favorite LO I did. Do you know how there are those moments in life that will forever be a picture in your head? I was fortunate enough to capture that with this one! I have never seen a LO done on when a child stops believing in Santa, but this is one! My Logan was looking out the train window discussing with my Santa and this is the moment -- this very moment -- that he stoped beleiving. Isn't it bitter sweet? He really truly did want to believe, but logically he just could not. It was like he had to mourn the loss of his belief. This LO captures all the emotion and memory of that moment. I am so happy I got an authentic record of that moment!

My Scrappy Space

I have recently cleaned and reorganized my scrap room. I really like it now. I tried to keep in mind how I scrapbook and what I use most of and PRIMAS are not on the top of my list, but buttons are!

This is the ink orgainzer from CTMH and it only holds their ink pads. The top is suppose to be for re-inkers, but I use it for Stickles.

Here are my CTMH stamps. each box holds roughly 18 stamp sets -- yes I have a lot.

My buttons! I love buttons and usually use them on every LO that comes across my desk. I am a visual person and need to see my stash, therefore these are on the peg board.

My latest find at the hardware store. I don't understand why people spend so much on stuff created to hold scrapbooking materials. Seriously, your local hardware store has way cooler, more practical, and cheaper things. Take this storage unit I am using for my alphas and such!

Most of my space. Everything (with the exception of the clip it up -- Thank you Marlene! I love it and it is well used and the ink pad sorter) are from the hardware store. If you just have a peg board and a few hooks you will be amazed at how much you will get out of your stash because you can see it!
